The Wilderness
This is where the wild herd roams. The range consists of a vast varied region mountain range decorated with an evergreen forest. Hidden inside are the ruins of an old castle. Nearby there is a waterfall into a river that leads to a lake surrounded by a meadow and a vast deciduous forest. There is a beach and ocean that only mares giving birth seem to find in time to deliver the new life. The outskirts of the territory are barren and sandy, perfect for brawls between animals.
The King and Queen (Royalty) set any and all rules and hold ability to change them at anytime. They may godmod their rank against characters at will. If King and Queen can not agree on terms of the rules or ranks, they must fight to determine whose way is going to be set in the rules.
Each new character starts at very bottom rank but foals of ranked horses remain that rank until they turn 3 at which point start at the bottom rank unless chosen to be Princes or Princesses by the king or queen.
Each rank can have its own mate(s), King and Queen are not necessarily mates and so on into all ranks.
Open positions may be claimed by anyone, except Lead. Royalty chooses Leads and Leads serve them by enforcing the rules and holding those accountable that do not. Lead ranks are appointed to serve as active leaders, enforcing the rules so that royalty can live lazily and luxuriously. Leads cannot challenge the Royals but can abandon their rank at any time. Royalty does not necessarily have to appoint anyone as Lead rank. Leads have moderate godmod ability over every lower rank.
Higher ranked horses have mild godmod ability over those below them, in order to keep their rank and will established.
A character must work it's way up through rank in order to have any grand to stand on in the herd, an Omega can only challenge the Sigma, the Sigma can only challenge the Kappa, and so forth, the lead works for the King/Queen and cannot challenge them. Any one can challenge for a Royal position at any time.
Stallion characters of any ranking may attempt to have their own groups of mares in the herd but any higher ranked stallions can godmod and take his mares.
Mares can claim stallions through a Fight and even force them to be in her own stallion group within the herd should she win the fights.
Both stallions and mares can challenge for freedom from their groups within the herd.
